I dont have any degree or hold any professional title. I represent the philosophy as it should be ,free !, new ! and unexpected ! Aristo didn't have a collage degree ,Einstein failed math ,I hate school , but we have something in common ....freedom of thought .And that is all what I have to offer.
Well, what I have to say is not exactly about "infinity" but rather an oservation on how can we acheive its understaning or what the hell will we do if we do get its meaning .Please dont be offended by my observations (they are only mine) and please do try and take advantage of some things in this article....... they can help you save a lot of time and braincracking. Also feel free to say how much my opinion suck or kicks-ass.....and e-mail me.
If...then...If...then.....

Time after time after time I had to face the question of self doubting. Is there infinity or not ? Hours ....days .....weeks....years....I sat and contemplated over the stupid question ,a question without answer. For the concept of "infinity" must include "finite" version of itself to be one. Well.... after those long years, I figured out the mistake I made in phrasing the question.....it really should be . Will be there a point in my life when I prefer choosing something "finite" over "infinite" ?
For ME the answer is NO. I am a child of infinity. It’s the only way I can make the world logically suitable for my existence and my comprehension.
What the hell evolution has to do with this nonsense?

Well, 99.999999 f our planets population ,never thought
"What the hell infinity is ? " but if they would (I hope you will agree with me on this ) the question would be obvious. "It is a hell of an useless fact to my existence !" . Those people base their lives on limiting options ,choosing, defining, establishing facts ,discarding possibilities due to the fact that their way of comprehending is based on a popular and common
Believe of "finite" world. For me , existing in such society is not even an option. As they cannot possibly understand how is it for me to "live" in nebulous , unclear, unstable, even "imaginable" world (from their point of view) ,I can't understand theirs. This simple statement game me a sudden understanding of my place in nature.
Over and over again we all agree to the wind of history.
(Without sliding of the subject) That Homo-Sapiens proved themselves to be the most dominant creature on Earth. We control the planet, we exploit it , we are the latest form of evolution nature had in mind for many millions of years. We achieved this state not by brute force ,not by vast numbers and not by fortune .We were smarter ,wiser , more inventive and of coarse more greedy then other species. In the end the battle of the strongest(smartest) was won we are who we are now .
But what nature has in its plans for us ?Will we remain the peak of its creation , or we will be the seed to new species ? Who will replace us ? Whom we have to fear in loosing the battle ? ..........Maybe I am too ignorant and too self-assured but comparing to the potential the "infinite" way of thinking can offer aver a "finite" one ,I have no doubt that the next step in nature's evolution is the development of "infinite" sense in ourselves. Sparkles of that sense exist in few of us , I met those people .....they are easily recognizable. Uncertain what they can do with their lives ,for every option is as good as other but always seem to handle themselves well in any situation, (unconquered by emotions but not lacking them) and always good at anything the DO choose to do, you can almost sense the sheer
power of will behind the person .For handling infinity as a way of thought is a task that only a highly developed mind can achieve. I also have no doubt that those with that talent will remain long after Homo-Sapiens lose their place as rulers of the Earth.
What the hell this nonsense have to do with infinity ?
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
In order understand what "infinity" is one must be able to see everything "infinity" has. In my opinion "INFINITY" is a function which drives everything "infinity" has to understand what "infinity" is . For as the Principia Cybernetica states:
"
At the initial stage of the process produce the number '1'. At each next stage take the number produced at the preceding stage and produce the number obtained by adding '1' to it."
"
The above function is "infinite", even if we can not understand it because we are not the function. But what if we were the function ? What if our live would be based on principles of infinity? Wouldn't we be "infinite" ? Wouldn't the riddle be solved ? If we don't try ,we will never succeed.
Thank you for reading my hopless babbling. :)

Date: Feb 3, 2001REPLY: Types of infinity
my dear, dear friend:
beautiful article. a good subject, which is explained very well. when I read it, however, some thoughts arose which I will bring here for everyone to judge.
let me begin by saying that there are 2 types of infinity that we as humans can think of (although not necessarily understand). the type that you and the quote you brought from Principia Cybernetica are talking about, the one that is achieved by setting x=1 and adding 1 to x unto infinity, I will call "negative infinity". "negative", because it is reached not by a positive assertion of infinity (finding a number that is infinite), but by negating the possibility of finiteness, by showing that nomatter what x is, x+1 will always exist. the other type, or "positive infinity", would mean to find a number that is infinite unto itself, without need of the function.
what I was thinking when i read the article, is that the second, or positive kind of infinity, must necessarily exist in order for the first kind to be possible. the function is dynamic, it is constantly changing and adding 1 to itself. now the nature of change is such that a changing thing must be in contact with something else. it can't be the only thing there IS, because if something is the only thing there is (in other words, if it is everything) then it is impossible for it to change, since it already contains everything and whatever changed in it was already there. that situation can only happen in a positive type of infinity. now, if the function you suggested, or any other infinite function, is in fact in contact with something other than itself, then it's infinite nature must be dependant of something other than itself. for example, a geometric line that isn't the only thing that exists (meaning that other geometrical figures exist) must exist in SPACE, and so its infinite nature is dependant on the infinite nature of space. for a line in space to be infinite, space must be infinite, for a dynamic function in time to be infinite, time must be infinite, for an idea to be infinite, thought must be infinite, etc. and if time and space themselves are a function of the form x=x+1, they must also be dependant on something else that is infinite and so must that something, unto infinity (heh, heh). so we either get an impossible function within function that we can never become since we can never understand (unlike x=x+1), or we must accept that SOMEWHERE under all these layers there is a positively infinite thing that all other infinities are dependant on.
tell me what you think..
