The "New Age" memetic process
The assimilation of higher quality memes -- more suited to generate better
behaviors -- by a significant fraction of individuals pertaining to a given
society or civilization will certainly tend to generate significant changes
at societal and environmental level. We may postulate that engaging in
"consciousness-raising activities, like meditation and different forms of
psychotherapy and healing" configure specifics kinds of behaviors
corresponding to specifics kinds of memetic motivations. Peoples engaging
in those kinds of behaviors can be understood both (1) as being predisposed
to react to the set of "memes" leading toward those practices and also (2)
to function as receptors, carriers, vectors and disseminators of those and
affiliated memes. The complex set of action entering the so-called
"new-wage" practices, stereotyped as "consciousness-raising activities,
like meditation and different forms of psychotherapy and healing" can be
understood as the ontological posture leading to the assimilation and
reproduction of significant sets of memes useful to stimulate the
transcendence of individual awareness and its selfish concerns toward a
higher level of "transpersonal" experiences belonging to a larger system.
The neuro-psycho-physiological tonus (mostly "trophotropic") induced by
those ontological postures may be seen as a very strong predisposing
ambience permitting the fast assimilation, metabolism and activation of the
circulating positives meta-memes and even permitting the incubation of new
and virulent synergetic memes.
A theory, bounding the [typical set of memes] pertaining to the
[civilization system to be transcended] to a biopsychosocial cybernetic
mechanism named "Ergothropic Cosensomotor (cognitive sensorial and motor)
Gestalt" and, in the opposite side, relating the [typical set of memes]
pertaining to the [higher envisioned meta-system] to the denominated
"Trophotropic Cosensomotor Gestalt" support the idea that the ample
dissemination of certain practices may, quite automatically, start some
generative reactions much more profitable that it seam to be at rapid and
superficial analyze.
