ANNOTATION:
Concerning the Application of Systems Theory to "Soft" Sciences/Humanities

The definition of Systems theory found on the linked page seems to be also a justification....describing associated/organized phenomena in systems terminology is done because the description [of what constitutes a system] is "independent" of the specific elements/variables involved.....thus defined, we proceed to apply systems models to everything....sociology, psychology, education, etc....yet, the article does not prove this premise/postulate......are we to say that it is acceptable to make such applictions because some features of the human world resemble some features of dynamic/complex systems?....[Look alike, is alike....] Where are the "isomorphies" mentioned? Are we only making linguistic distinctions about linguistic distinctions?......while we are on the subject....while doing some web-based research, I chanced upon this speculative, but intriguing, article [in 2 parts] "Seizing Zadeh, Fuzzy Ruminations on Chaos, Complexity, and Conspiracy"....the url is: http://www.themestream.com/articles/111438.html 111451.html ....thought you might find interest in it...regards, Marc M.
