ANNOTATION:
There needs to be a SEQUEL
WHAT IS WRONG WITH HAWAII?
Can our people read AND comprehend? Or do we just do business in a half-here way?
Whatever, it costs business many dollars in time and labor when our bureaucracy does such a poor job of matching workers to the job requirements. Someone who is given the duty to answer e-mail messages needs to know how to read, AND to comprehend the question.
Here is a sad example of what we cannot get when we go to the DCCA, Insurance division website and pose a question:

It would be nice if I could access a list of carriers so that I can find
someone besides American Home Shield who insures real estate companies
against E&O claims.
If you have information for me, I would really appreciate your help.

Companies that provide home warranty should be registered as service
contract providers (re: Ch. 481X, HRS) with the Insurance Division of the
Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. I believe American Home
Shield is registered. I'm not sure if the Insurance Division has a list
but they could tell you if a certain company is registered or not. It is
suggested that you call Lynne Yano next week at (808) 586-2788 for the
information. Before contacting her, you may do a search of home warranty
companies on the Internet. Go to "Google" or any other search engine and
type in "home warranty." If you find other companies, check with Lynne
about their registration.

MY RESPONSE WAS:
My request was for E&O Insurance carriers licensed in Hawaii. I would have been happy with all Insurance Carriers and I would have even called them individually. I have been with American Home Shield. I wanted to know what others there might be.
My initial request was not about Home Warranties.
Thank you for trying to be helpful. Until you put your companies on-line, the consumer will not be served.
