REPLY: Free Will

Why would God have given us free will if he did not intend for us to use it? How could you use free will if you merely obey God's every desire?

The answer to “free will” may not appear obvious, and even contradictory - but it is very simple. The answer: It pleases God. God does not need us, God existed forever in eternity past without us. God has other "servants" who do exactly as He wants. Man was created with the ability to choose for a very simple reason - it pleases God that we may choose Him. Think of it this way. If you told your computer to wake up every morning and tell you that you are a wonderful person and that it loves you - what have you gained? If you wake up in the morning and someone is there with you and they tell you that you are a wonderful person and that they love you out of their own free will - is that not better? Think about it, and have the perspective of a created person - created by the all mighty God who created everything. By putting yourself in your proper place and God in His - the answers are obvious - whether you like them or not is strictly up to you (free will remember). I could go on - but I will stop with this - Know that although it may seem contradictory man has free will to choose - yet God is in complete and total control of everything and He works out his plan in it all. That is how great our (yes He is your God too - whether you admit it or not) God is.
