ANNOTATION:
model within a model

I suspect that perhaps it is easy to make a very simplified model that describes a complicated model that descrbies reality. As so often happens in the discipline of translation, something is easily lost. Sometimes a conspicuous absence of description is the simplest description available, and quite accurately representing what is known (that is to say, unknown). I would suggest that, in order to produce a simpler model, a bubble-encased model of reality has been described that excludes what is currently (or for some) difficult to measure or understand. From this bubble-reality, it has been easy to produce simple and efficient models. However, it could be that epistemology frowns on this method of creating models of truth. In short, I think your concepts of the spiritual or metaphysical are shortsighted and too dismissive in order to gloss over the inadequacies of models built without taking them into proper account (are you familiar with the concept of the table tennis game where the table is in the middle of a football field?).
