It occured to me while reading some of the text here about memes that you can easily compare a meme to computer RAM and say that some memes are more volatile than other memes. Also it's easy to see that things could get messy with this infatuation to classify. This meme as a certain kind of meme and another meme as another type. In effect we are comparing say a joke with an attitude or an idea with a feeling. Memes are the pulses of our brains, a smile, a sniff, a grunt, a keen eye, skeptic sneer, etc...Of course I'm new to all of this and may not even know what I'm talking about but I felt compelled to give a first timers impression of this discussion as I think it's all very fascinating. I'd also really like to hear what people think as to what significance the study of memes has for our culture and society. Take care.
