Improved definitions
The definition of a meme as a "unit" is the best part of the
definition. But this is still very weak.
All definitions are supposed to ensure some kind of connection
structure in people's brains and so should specify what that brain
is. I have thus defined a simple and general neural net and defined
a philosophy on top of it. This has led to proposing a new
social system that optimizes freedom for the greatest variety
of social systems (makes possible the greatest number of
different "mimes". So the question becomes not which mimee
will dominate but which in tern creates the greatest variety).
