Principia Cybernetica Web

ANNOTATION:
concept life vs life

If you look at the dictionary definition of life it is not set in stone. This is also apparent on this web-site ! Why ? This is because we are discussing the concept or idea of 'life'. Like all concepts it changes and refuses to be pinned down. Perhaps we are forcing a verb to be a noun ? On the other hand life as we live it second by second, day by day is as real as a twisted ankle ! It doesn't have a meaning it just happens. Why then the need to dominate and control life with language ? Why insist on the conceptual victory ? Perhaps seeing life (and ourselves) as something beyond control is terrifying ? This struggle to control and dominate ourselves and life perhaps gives us some uncomfortable insights into the nature of the beast ? Happy to discuss.
