I am 18 years old and im not that clever but for a while now i have been interested in ancient egypt.
but recently I was thinking of why I was here and I came to the conclusion that certain people were put here to do a specific thing and others something different. For instance a large group of people go through school get a job, get married and have kids others the more succesful and rich to buy companies employ thousands of people, be famous and then theirs people like me who do not know what they do but i have realised recently that if i had the resource i would go to egypt explore the ancient egyptians and go to south america and explore the ancient aztec. what do you think i should do. This sounds very interesting! I have done some studies on Ancient Egypt and read many books, but I have never been there physically! It sounds as if it would be an adventure! Do you plan on attending college? I have to say that obtaining a college education is absolutely, without a doubt, a must in todays society! If I were you, I would start in college, study the background of Ancient Egypt, take several courses in that area, obtain a degree, then I would go to Egypt and explore my dream!
Going to Egypt now would not be logical considering your age! You have to have a foundation to obtain funds, such as a trade of some sort! Traveling there may seem as though it is what you want to accomplish at this point in your life, but it is more important to lay a foundation for survival, as I mentioned above, a trade of some sort! It may seem as though there are many more rewarding things to do at eighteen years old than to attend college, but the truth is when you are older you will regret not going! It is sad to say but the world is a cruel place and if you are not ready to hold your own you will suffer dearly from it! I know you are young and most of what I am saying may sound like a "parent" to you! But the truth of the matter is in the "real world" people who not attend college, barely make it by working at McDonalds, or gas stations, factories or such as that! Not that there is anything wrong with such a job, but ask many of the people working in such establishments if given the chance to do it all over, would they attend college and obtain a degree, I'm sure that all or most of them would do so!
I believe in following one's dream, but one's dream cannot hinder there survival! It is more important at your age to be thinking and applying to a college and then after obtaining such go on to follow that dream!
I, at age eighteen, did not go to college, instead I married at seventeen, had children and then later at age 25 divorced! At this age, you are unsure of what is important! I wish that I would have obtained my degree then, instead of waiting until later! At 25, I applied to a college, got a BA in Science, went on and got my Masters, then continued with my doctite! I now have a very distinguished job and am very proud of myself for doing so! I cannot express strong enough the importance of education! Please consider it and if you chose to attend college, that would not be "giving up on your dreams" it would only be a means to be able to follow your dream and be able to pay for it! I wish you the best and I hope that you do follow that dream!
