ANNOTATION:
the meaning of life

Distinct from why or how we came to be here in the first place,
now that we ARE here, for me the meaning of life is happiness
within (credit John Klein). To be intrinsically stable, adapted
and adapting to their surroundings, capable of further growth
and development (credit PCW).

We live in a world full of insecurity. We need the ability to
cope with both your own insecurities as well as those imposed
upon you by the world AND survive with a reasonable degree of
sanity.

This is what I try to do in my life. It's not easy yet you find
the strength from somwehere within. I'm just like you, the
humble human being, if I can do what I have done and will
continue to do so can you, All the best.

I question the need for life to have "meaning". All the previous comments are hard to refute, but something akin to
religious belief seems to be developing. Why do we have to believe something about so nebulous a concept? Can't we explore the theories without arguing about what they have to mean? Can't we keep open minds and still explore ideas? There is no way a consensus will ever be reached, but I like to see what other people are thinking. I do not want to be told what to believe or how to think. I want to be able to accept what each contributor to the discussion says, even if he contradicts what was said and accepted before. I want to be able to have many different points of view and I plan to reject as many. I do want to say that if an individual life has meaning, it is likely that that meaning is not the same as the meaning that might be imagined for the fact of existance of life in general or human life in particular. I guess we each decide what our own life means, if anything, and some of us decide what the lives of others mean or should mean, but
