ANNOTATION: intelligence. from where. geologic time
It occurs to me that, as with most scientific theories and/or manifestos, this one assumes that human beings are the first to accomplish such heights of evolution. This may well be, but I believe that there is evidence (even if it is not overwhelming) that points to the possibly extra-terrestrial pre-existence of such 'integrated superbeings.' I don't necessarily subscribe to these ideas either, but I think that exclusion of anomalous fact is the biggest mistake of mainstream, modern science. It is therefore the responsibility of 'reasonable' theorists not to overlook the possibility that super-human intelligence may already exist. Why are we here to 'conquer outerspace' and 'control the universe'? First, Why are we not the conquered? Second, imperialist thought, though it may be human nature, is capitalistic. In my opinion, capitalist values systems certainly do not mesh with the continuation of human evolution.
'Where [what] are the ultimate criteria for judging social organization?'--says the manifesto.
If it is persistence of that organization, which seems reasonable, then why not follow much physically smaller and arguably more succesful social structures, such as that of insects? Does it not seem as if ants, for example, are responsive to an intelligence that is removed from their physical bodies, but controls the precise organizational workings of their society? If so, why are we not acing in accordance to the same? If one thinks of our very recent arrival onto the geologic time line, he/she can surely not assume that WE are the inteligent beings 'in charge' of the biosphere. god?
