ANNOTATION: frequency coupling systematic dependency
Hi,
This is a note regarding the frequency rule, which as stated
implies that all traversals are equivalent in terms of link
strengthening.
My comment is that in normal mental processes, things that
"sort out a big mess" may be of great value, but are only done
infrequently. The upshot of this is that although the link
would describe a very powerful process, the link would be very
weak since the traversal frequency would be low.
This suggests an optimization to the frequency rule such
that the link is strengthened by a factor which depends on the
value of the result that traversing the link will have if the
action is successful.
