a circle is the only simpler example but that means zero.
that is the best explanation i have ever heard.

In a book by Rudy Rucker, he says that "the symbol lies in the fact that one can travel endlessly around such a curve...demolition style, if you will. Endlessness is, after all, a principal component of ones concept of infinity."
