ANNOTATION:
Definition correction

I feel the linkage of happiness to 'control' is flawed.

Unhappiness may result from a lack of control.
However happiness is not so much resultant from having control,
as in achieving a mental state where there is no longer a need
to seek control. This is taught by many religious philosophies,
and in modern terms could be translated as "going with the flow".

Control is never fully achievable in practice, although our
modern society teaches the contrary in order to sell stuff,
only by letting go of the need to control every aspect of life
will contentment be reached.
