ANNOTATION:
Aren't people happier if they have no control ?

I do agree that there is a subjective sense of happiness when we feel in control of things at large. There seems to be great happiness when not in control - like when under influence of drugs and you completely let go of control and accept the " lack of control" as a state to be in. This is also what happens when there is an experience of heightened consciousness (nirvana type), when the individual loses subjectivity - when the subject doesn't exist the question of control does not arise. This experience has been repeatedly stated to lead to ultimate and perpetual happiness. Letting go of control and accepting that there is no control you have - and being at the mercy of whatever - God, or nature etc. can also lead to a happy state of mind ( often happier than being in control). REPLY:

SOME people ARE happier with no control, but that's because they
have wrong models of reality.
So, with the process of evolution, these people will eventually
become extinct.
Happiness is just an emotion, something your mind creates for you
when it thinks something good is taking place. It is easy to deceive your mind, but that won't do any good for your survival.

REPLY: World is bigger than that

I'm too tired at the moment to really answer this question, but i'll hopefully return to this topic. The thing is anyway that you guys don't have a clue of happines if your measuring it by the concept of control. There are people who still live in the rainforests and who knows where, you think that everybody searches for control in life... I'm justing about the 6 billion people here. I know people who live day by day, really day by day. they are ready to take chances, it may be exciting you know. I'll just leave it to that at the moment. Just think about it again what you' re saying here.
