ANNOTATION:
Not religion, not believing, but knowing.

If you say G-d doesn't exist, I don't care. If you think He does, I don't care either. If you know He does, then you may be on the right track, as may I. You don't need to be religious to be a good person. But just because your religious, doesn't mean that you truly believe in G-d. And to believe without having a personal experience with the divine is just taking someone else's word. And if you believe in something to avoid punishment, well, strap on a pair. But if you can say that there is definitely no G-d because He must be omnipotent, all-loving and all knowing but I still have this big zit on my face, my Mom died and I can't get laid (AKA there is still suffering), well, strap on a pair. There are plenty of people who have had it worse. Much worse. But the world is getting better. Children and old people are having it easier now. We are learning as a whole human race that we really need to get our act together. Thus, there is a lesson to be learned. That is why there is suffering. Most of us as children were told what to do by adult figures who ostensibly knew more than we did. Then we grew up, ignored most of the shit we were told, and then learned anyway, through suffering. That's why there's suffering. Learn, and get out of your hedonistic calculus. More to life (and reality) than hash, Phish and oral sex. Enjoy pleasure as much as deprivation. So you may say why would the Divine even enter into this at all. I don't need G-d to suffer. Well, its a personal thing. And it should be. Religion isn't something to be taken lightly. It's not a weekend retreat. If you have true faith, then it's the essential truth about the most important thing in existence. If you got it from your parents, it may not be right. It's just that mine was. It is the right one. Yours is wrong. But if you say that more than one religion is right, then you do not believe completely in your religion. Time to find a new one, whatever it may be. Don't doubt your religion, find one you don't doubt. But you don't have to believe what I do. Shit, as long as you're not being an asshole, I don't care. I perform rituals out of love for the Divine, pure belief is bliss in itself, and allows the Divine to enter into your life. I recommend it. And please don't tell me to believe something or I'll spend eternity in a boiling-shit jacuzzi. First show me the damn jacuzzi, or the book that talks about it, the exact passage, and I'll show you another book, and you won't win. For goodness sake, be happy, KNOW God, and help other people. Peace.
