ANNOTATION: Unaddressed Epistemic Modalities...
While I myself lean toward fundamental theories of adaptation, I find that the stated positions of this site (and world view) still fail to get down to down and dirty fundamental basics, especially in terms of (one example) neural logic processings. Yes, knowledge capacities have necessarily evolved. But such an obvious historic basis leaves so many unanswered questions...even beyond, say, the perceptual-cognitive developmental, the bio-molecular, the quantum chemico-physical standpoints. To tie everything together, we need to understand precisely the details of all cognitive knowledge processes...not simply their functionalities. This site has addressed functionality very well. But it still needs to further elaborate the subtle nature of perception, perceptibility, discernment, distinguishment as comparison/contrast, the essential and necessary substrative preconditional context for these...including the functionalities of re-cognition and how memory works. (You alluded, in the Epistemic Constructivist section to the indistinguishability of actual versus hallucinatory memories. Please...expand, elaborate...how, precisely, does this occur? What is the state-of-the-art view on this?) Lastly, you have assumed that too much is obvious, as it pertains to the enduring question: what are the combinatory conditionalities which make knowledge possible? (Example: Take the Quantum Mechanics debate re: the Identity of Indiscernibles...or, Godels Incompleteness Theorem.) I have taken the time to offer my input to you because...perhaps with some refinement your site (and ideas) can help to clarify and motivate...for improved intelligence. Finally, to sufficiently explain the nature of knowledge, move beyond its functionality...examine the nuts and bolts of its mechanics...the logical bases of thought processes themselves. All innovation moves from bottom-up. I recommend one of many good sites, for edification only: (http://www.gallup.unm.edu/~smarandache/NeutrosophicLogic.pdf). Great talking to you all. G-man
