As a true Belgian, I must congratulate the author of this article. I was wondering how the Belgian image had evolved after some media-attention (Dutroux, pollution...).
I have to comment on the 'french fries' or 'ftites'. You MUST visit Belgium to taste the best frites in the world. I have visited a big number of foreign countries. All of them serve french fries. EVERYTIME it dissappoints me...they're not crispy, they(re too fat, they taste like sh**, etc...
I also think that the Belgians are finally starting some image-making, because of the imageless image.
