Loved the essay. I'm just beginning to learn more about Belgium,
I'm more and more curious about the country because of my ethnic background. Most of my ancestors (all Catholic) came from Dutch Limburg. It seems that my folks have more in common with Belgians than with the standard stern/scolding/Protestant Hollanders. More easy-going, overall, more fond of good music and good food and dancing...would you say that's an accurate observation?
I've never been to Belgium, now I'm really curious.
